Semanggi, Warta KotaSetelah dinanti-nanti sejak pagi, Rani Juliani, janda siri almarhum Nasrudin Zulkarnaen, akhirnya datang ke Polda Metro Jaya, Jumat (26/6) siang. Dia mendapat pengawalan ketat dari anggota reserse dan provost.
Rani, yang mengenakan baju blazer cokelat motif kotak garis-garis, tiba di Direktorat Reserse Kriminal Umum sekitar jam 11.30. Dengan rambut sebahu yang digerai Rani datang bersama dua orang penasehat hukumnya naik mobil Toyota Fortuner B 1996 WS.
Kehadiran mantan caddy di lapangan Padang Golf Moderland Tangerang di Polda untuk yang kedua kalinya. Rani akan menjalani pemeriksaan bahkan kabarnya akan dipertemukan dengan Antasari Azhar, Ketua KPK nonaktif, yang kini jadi tersangka kasus pembunuhan Nasrudin.
Kemunculan Rani di Polda tak ubahnya ketika Antasari Azhar ditahan. Para wartawan harus bergelut dengan pengawal Rani, untuk mendapatkan gambar dan mendengar komentar perempuan itu seputar kasus yang menimpa Nasrudin. Kabarnya Rani akan menggelar konprensi pers usai pemeriksaan.
Bagi polisi, Rani merupakan saksi kunci kasus pembunuhan Nasrudin yang ditembak usai bermain golf, Maret 2009 lalu. Sampai sejauh ini polisi memastikan motif pembunuhan Nasrudin karena persoalan harga diri. Antasari kesal karena kepergok oleh Nasrudin saat berduaan dengan Rani di kamar 808 Hotel Grand Mahakam, Jakarta Selatan.
Direktur Reserse Kriminal Umum Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Muhamad Iriawan, mengatakan, Rani datang untuk menjalani pemeriksaan. "Memastikan barang bukti...ya misalnya handphone dan lainnya," papar Iriawan. Sedianya usai salat Jumat Iriawan berjanji akan menggelar jumpa pers. (Dedy)

Selain sebagai penyanyi, Mbah Surip pernah merasakan pengalaman bekerja di bidang pengeboran minyak, tambang berlian, emas, dan lain-lain bahkan pernah bekerja di luar negeri seperti Kanada, Texas, Yordania dan California. Namun Merasa nasibnya kurang baik, Mbah Surip mencoba peruntungan dengan pergi ke Jakarta. Di Ibukota Jakarta, ia bergabung dengan beberapa komunitas seni seperti Teguh Karya, Aquila, Bulungan, dan Taman Ismail Marzuki.
Pada suatu waktu, nasib menentukan lain. Mbah Surip mendapat kesempatan untuk rekaman dan akhirnya meraih kesuksesan seperti sekarang.
Perjalanan di Dunia Musik
Dalam perjalanan musiknya Mbah Surip telah mengeluarkan beberapa album musik. Album rekamannya dimulai dari tahun 1997 diantaranya, Ijo Royo-royo (1997), Indonesia I (1998), Reformasi (1998), Tak Gendong (2003) dan barang Baru (2004).
Namun ternyata lagu Tak Gendong diciptakan pada tahun 1983 saat Mbah Surip bekerja di Amerika Serikat. Menurut Mbah Surip Filosofi dari lagu ini yaitu Belajar salah itu, yang digendong ya siapa saja, entah baik, galak, nakal, atau jahat. Seperti bus, nggak peduli penumpangnya, entah itu copet, gelandangan, pekerja, ya siapa saja. Sebab, menggendong itu belajar salah.
Mbah Surip tampil juga lewat video klip "Witing Trisno" karangan Tony Q Rastafara di MTV. Ciri khas dari setiap aksinya di panggung musik yaitu selalu ditemani "Gitar Kopong" nya, menyanyi dengan sangat relax dan nyanyi "ngalor-ngidul" dengan gaya-nya yang khas, kocak, gila, dan bebas ekspresi.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Michael Jackson, the child star turned King of Pop who set the world dancing to exuberant rhythms for decades, died on Thursday, the Los Angeles Times said. He was 50.
"Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times," the newspaper reported on its website.
Jackson had been taken ill at his home and found not breathing by paramedics who rushed him to a hospital, the paper said.
The paper's report followed news of Jackson's death first reported by the TMZ entertainment website, which said that the singer suffered a cardiac arrest. There was no immediate comment from spokespersons for Jackson.
Known as the "King of Pop," for hits that included "Thriller" and "Billie Jean," Jackson's dramatic stage presence and innovative dance moves were imitated by legions of fans around the world.
His one-gloved eccentric style also earned him plenty of critics and another nickname, "Wacko Jacko."
Jackson, who had lived as a virtual recluse since his acquittal in 2005 on charges of child molestation, had been scheduled to launch a comeback tour from London next month.
TMZ said on its website that Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. "We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the site said.
Earlier, the Los Angeles Times said the singer had been rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital by fire department paramedics. The newspaper said paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the singer's home before taking him to the UCLA Medical Center hospital.
COMEBACK CONCERTS
Jackson had been due to start a series of concerts in London on July 13 running until March 2010. The singer had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the past two months.
The shows for the 50 London concerts sold out within minutes of going on sale in March.
His lifetime record sales tally is believed to be around 750 million, which, added to the 13 Grammy Awards he received, makes him one of the most successful entertainers of all time.
There were concerns about Jackson's health in recent years but the promoters of the London shows, AEG Live, said in March that Jackson had passed a 4-1/2 hour physical examination with independent doctors.
New Yorkers and tourists in the city's Times Square were shocked at the news of Jackson's death.
"I don't know what to say. It's sad, it's really, really sad," said Nicole Smith, an 18-year-old student from Brooklyn, New York, in Times Square. "My mother was a fan. I listened to his music."
"I'm shocked. I thought someone was lying to me when I first heard it. I was a fan from when he was a little boy and then he got weird," said Sue Sheider, 51, a teacher from Long Island.

Serves Up 'Splendor' Pink Martini
Michael D. Ayers, N.Y.With three successful records under their belt, eclectic lounge-pop act Pink Martini will return October 13 with "Splendor in the Grass" on the band's own label, Heinz Records. Pink Martini's founder and director Thomas Lauderdale tells Billboard.com the album is "all over the map, but hopefully more cohesive than the last one ['Hey Eugene!']." A final track listing is currently being worked on as Lauderdale hopes to get back into the studio and record guest vocals from 90 year old Mexican rancheras singer Chavela Vargas and NPR correspondent Ari Shapiro.
Whether more recording happens or not, Lauderdale is quite excited about the group's new work. "Sometimes with these albums, the danger is everything becoming too random. With this one, I think it has the energy of the first album ['Sympathique']," he said.
Pink Martini is known for mixing a wide variety of contemporary pop influences, classical, and world arrangements and, from Lauderdale's descriptions, "Splendor in the Grass" continues in this tradition. "Tuca Tuca," a popular Italian song from 1970, is augmented with the use of a sitar (the actual instrument used by Peter Sellers in the 1968 film "The Party") and vocalist China Forbes teams with Sesame Street's Emilio Delgado for a bilingual version of "Sing" (a song originally composed for the popular kids program and covered by the Carpenters). For the title track, the group drew inspiration from poets William Wordsworth and Walt Whitman and "a little bit of Tchaikovsky." "I think this is very different than anything we've ever released," he says of the song "Splendor in the Grass." "It's more like an early 70's pop ballad."
Although remaining relatively under the radar this decade, Pink Martini has become quite successful in both selling records, selling out prestigious concert halls and licensing their music in many major film and television placements (i.e. "Desperate Housewives," "Weeds," "CSI New York"). The first three records have combined for a total of 750,000 sales, according to Nielson SoundScan. Lauderdale says the band feels very fortunate for this and credits Pink Martini's fans as "one of the few populations that are still buying albums." Support from NPR and Pink Martini's work with symphony orchestras have also boosted their exposure to audiences that might not initially gravitate towards an a popular music act.
"Thomas is such a perfectionist, which is such a luxury for the audience," says Johanna Rees, Senior Programming Manager of presentations and special concerts for the Hollywood Bowl and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. "He's so inclusive, that when you're watching him put a show together, you realize why it has such a great spirit. He's open to suggestions and eager to make it as good as he possibly can." Dating back to 2000, Pink Martini has played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and on their own; Rees has booked them at both the Hollywood Bowl and the LA Philharmonic's downtown venue, Walt Disney Concert Hall.
"They have such a widespread appeal," she says. "The musicianship is so good, but they don't take themselves too seriously."

"I've done various classical things with them since I was 13," Lauderdale recalls. "I made the decision we should champion them; it would've been cheaper if we had assembled our own orchestra, but I really believe in them."
But for now, the focus remains on getting "Splendor in the Grass" out there. "It's really a fun record, I really love it," he says.

Adam Lambert Pre-'Idol' Debut Album
Monica Herrera and David J. Prince, N.Y.It looks like Adam Lambert's debut album may not be released on 19 Recordings/RCA after all. Sources confirm to Billboard.com that an album's worth of tracks Lambert co-wrote and recorded before "Idol" will be released in the summer by Hi Fi Recordings and Wilshire Records. Entitled "On With The Show," the album is slated for release in the summer, months before Lambert's debut on 19/RCA is expected to drop.
Lambert's first single, "Want," is streaming now on the Hi Fi Recordings official website, and according to the company's CEO John Hecker, the rest of the tracks will sound similar. "The music's amazing," says Hecker. "There are some uptempo [songs], there's some that rock a little more, and there are some songs on the same tip as "Want." It's a real album that's coming out, not just a conglomerate of a bunch of songs. This is all original material -- as a matter of fact, Adam wrote a lot of it."
According to Hi Fi, Lambert co-wrote the material that will appear on the album and even made a trip to the Wilshire Records studio in Los Angeles as recently as May 2009 to hear it. "He was in the Wilshire Records studio right before the finale actually, and he was blown away by the material."
Hi Fi Recordings did not notify 19 Entertainment about its intent to release Lambert's debut album before announcing the news on Friday afternoon. "I bet they know now," Hecker says.
Later, Lambert issued a statement through 19. "Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else," he said. "I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on. I'm thrilled to be working with some of today's hottest songwriters and producers and can't wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like."
As reported earlier, Lambert is working with Lady GaGa producer RedOne and with ex-Evanesence songwriter David Hodges.
Adam Lambert's "Want" was produced by L.A. based New Zealand expat Malcolm Welsford, a principal at Wilshire Records, and features additional production by Mark Endert, who has produced or co-produced several Hot 100 hits including Maroon5's "Makes Me Wonder," Vertical Horizon's "Everything You Want" and "I Don't Want To Be" by Gavin DeGraw. Endert declined to comment, while his manager at Nettwerk, Alia Fahlborg, admitted that they knew it would be controversial. "He's very proud of the work he did," she said.
Welsford does not have a listed number, nor does Wilshire Records. His LinkedIn profile lists an additional company, Wilshire Publishing, and claims Adam Lambert as part of its roster. Welsford was unreachable for comment.
When pressed for more information on the terms of Lambert's non-exclusive agreement with Wilshire Records and whether or not the singer will see any compensation from the album, Hecker responded, "I don't really want to talk about the nuts and bolts of the business deal...but I can tell you that Adam will share in the success."
Hecker says he was approached by Wilshire Records about releasing Lambert's material soon after the singer made his first appearance on "Idol" in January 2009. "When they first discussed it with me I was really hesitant, because usually when there's music that's been recorded earlier, the stuff isn't so good. This stuff is unbelievable. We saw that it was the right thing for fans to hear this music. We're doing everything on the highest level, from the mixes to how we're promoting it."
Hi Fi Recordings is the label home of Melinda Doolitle, who finished third on Season 6 of "American Idol" and was a favorite contestant of Simon Cowell. But Hecker says that he's never been in touch with 19 Entertainment about striking a deal with a top "Idol" alum. "It wasn't relevant," he insists. Since jumping into the music business in 1995, Hecker signed the U.K. band Spacehog as well as Avril Lavigne, who was on his imprint through Arista.
The CEO says he's "100%" confident that his company has the legal right to debut its Adam Lambert album before 19/RCA does theirs. "We would never put anything out that wasn't fully owned by the parties involved with all the rights secured. We were really careful."
"I'm working [Adam's] brand with as much care as anybody could," adds Hecker. "I do not want to hurt this guy, I want this guy to be as huge as he should be, and I think this music is only going to help."
